Cutting oversized formats
The TruLaser 8000, engineered especially to handle oversized formats, has been entirely overhauled and boasts many new functions.
The TruLaser 8000 can cut sheet metal as much as 16 meters in length. This 2D laser machine is available, effective immediately, in a reworked design incorporating many new features. Built especially to handle oversized formats, this unit is exactly the right choice for companies that need very large parts for their products – and for job shops desiring to expand their capacities and range of services by offering machining for extra-large parts. The customer can, as needed, choose from two pallet concepts and six format sizes, ranging from 2,500 x 6,000 mm to 2,500 x 16,000 mm.
Better cutting results
New to the TruLaser 8000 is the optional AdjustLine function. It modifies the cutting process to suit current needs and thus increases the tolerance for variations in material quality. Another available option is the CoolLine function. It uses water to carry away excess heat, making for far better cutting results when dealing with low-grade material. This new machine has increased the maximum thickness for mild steel and stainless steel by five millimeters, to 25 mm in each case, using a 6 kilowatt laser. The single cutting head strategy makes it possible to cut all sheet metal thicknesses without changing out the head. What’s more, the thin-sheet productivity package boosts output when cutting lighter material.
Improved control concept
Improved elements have also been integrated into the control concept. The ergonomically correct control panel can be adapted individually to suit the operator’s preferences and the lighting conditions in the production area. The user interface has been significantly simplified, as the machine now features self-explanatory, dialog-based touch command. Located directly below the control console is a cabinet for the machine’s accessories, ensuring that nozzles, lenses and cleaning sets are always at hand.
Enhanced energy efficiency
The high-efficiency cooling unit enhances energy utilization, as does the optimized laser standby mode. Whenever the machine suspends cutting, the laser reduces by 40 percent the amount of power it draws – and is nonetheless ready to resume cutting in just a matter of seconds. The LensLine feature incorporates a status examination function to increase lens service lives and to save time, as well, since unnecessary cleaning cycles are eliminated. The optimized service concept saves even more time. The maintenance points are clearly marked and located for easy access and the maintenance instructions are clear and unequivocal.
Extensive 2D laser program
The TruLaser 8000, a large-format machine, takes a special place in TRUMPF’s 2D laser program. TRUMPF complements these special-purpose machines with an extensive program of 2D laser machines – from the compact and affordable TruLaser Series 1000 of entry-level machines through to the high-productivity, dual-head designs in the TruLaser Series 7000.
