The TruBend Cell 5000 processes a wide range of parts, small or big, weighing up to 100 kg. An advantage which wights twice for Dirk Matyssek.
Most of them are in XXL — the custom sheet metal “suits” made by Matyssek Metalltechnik in Stadtoldendorf, Germany. Sixty skilled workers, technicians and engineers fabricate housings and claddings from sheet metal one to six millimeters thick, and they work in exceptional dimensions, as well. The current record is 14 meters long, four meters tall and just as deep. Expecting workers to handle such heavy and unwieldy components is hardly reasonable and so in 2009 owner Dirk Matyssek turned to the TruBend Cell 5000 with BendMaster (150) and a TruBend 5170.
Small Batches at full process reliability
Matyssek: “This automated bending cell gave us a dual advantage. We reduce strain by relieving employees of strenuous physical exertion and at the same time are more profitable. The large BendMaster can handle parts of up to 100 kilograms and offers convincing process reliability and cycle time. Matyssek: “The large bending cell lets us work even small batches with minimum set-up effort and at full process reliability.” As a rule, Matyssek works orders for as few as five items. When dealing with particularly heavy and complex components, the cell is sometimes even used to make up a one-off order.
Matyssek Metalltechnik developed a magnetic gripper especially to handle perforated cladding panels weighing 90 kilograms.
